Würzburg, in Germany, is world-renowned for its "Franken" wines. However, White (Wheat) Beers have certainly travelled to the city. The three different ones shown here are excellent examples. Click on their names above, to find out more about them and their websites.The photo was taken at the time of the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF), which is run each year, by the UK's premier beer consumers' organisation, CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale (www.camra.org.uk). The White Horse (www.whitehorsesw6.com) is one of the world's most famous purveyors of Real Ale (Cask Beer), and it also has an excellent selection of beers from around the world, particularly Belgium, Belgian Beer being very much the specialist subject of those featured in the photo. Tim's guide - the fifth edition came out in May, 2005 - can be purchased from his site, and from CAMRA, from www.amazon.co.uk, or from www.amazon.com. Tim, in collaboration with my fellow Beer Hunt organiser, Chris (Podge) Pollard, produced a May, 2004 book entitled LambicLand LambikLand, which covers Lambic Bars, Breweries and Blenders, including how to get to them. Clearly, one should not venture into the Payottenland, in the Belgian Province of Flemish Brabant (Vlaams-Brabant), without it. LambicLand LambikLand was the first book published by Tim's Cogan & Mater company; Tim's site was set up for this venture. LambicLand LambikLand can be purchased from the site.
